Spirit of Independence is a yearly event dedicated to promoting, developing and screening the very best of independent cinema from around the world.

I am co-director for the festival, running it with my colleague Ben, and we oversee the programming, scheduling, promoting and management of the event.

SHEFFIELD DOC/FEST

Sheffield Doc/Fest is the world’s leading documentary film festival and I worked for them in many capacities over many years. For example, here is footage of me interviewing legendary editor and personal hero Walter Murch in 2013.

FUTURE EVERYTHING

conference manager (3 years)

FutureEverything is an arts organisation with a year-round programme of cultural activity, helping shape digital culture locally, nationally and internationally for over 25 years.

I ran the conference side of the event for 3 years, as well as produced a number of video promos.

BANGFACE

TV channel manager (5 years)

Bangface is a neo-rave armageddon music festival taking place at various Pontins resorts across the country. It’s pure madness. For 5 years we ran the on-site tv station, broadcasting bizarre movies, nonsensical free-association and live shows for a whole weekend.

THE CHILDREN’S MEDIA CONFERENCE

The CMC is the only gathering in the UK for everyone involved in developing, producing and distributing content to kids – on all platforms.
