music videos

I have worked on a lot of music videos over the years; sometimes as the creative force behind the project and sometimes as a hand for hire. This is the bulk of it.

Natacha Atlas: Extrait Live with the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra (2013)

Editor

This is an extract from a longer documentary and performance film I made for Natacha Atlas, culled from performance and rehearsal footage filmed on tour by the band and featuring a new voiceover from Natacha.

Natacha Atlas - Egypt: Rise to Freedom (2011)

A collaborative effort between Egyptian-British singer Natacha Atlas, producer Basha Beats and myself, this was a tribute to the Egyptian uprising of 2011 and features contemporary news footage alongside Natacha’s evocative and powerful vocals.

the mirimar disaster - persius (2007)

producer, camera operator

Directed by Paul Huxley, this music video for Sheffield metal titans The Mirimar Disaster is like an unfolding episode of Black Mirror made waaaaay before Black Mirror was ever a thing.

The Low Lows - dear flies, love spider (2006)

producer, director, editor

Constructed from 17 different safety videos from the 1950s, this video is a collapse of sexual predators, teenage rebels, fast cars and loose women - plus anguish, so much anguish…

aaron stout - spacestation (2006)

Producer

Our first of two collaborations with Sheffield-graffiti-alumni-turned-respectable-street-artists Phlegm, this is a the sad tale of a lonely astronaut drifting slowly through the cosmos. This video was illustrated by Phlegm and directed and animated by Tim Parmee.

reigns - everything beyond these walls has been razed (2009)

Producer

Our second collaboration with Phlegm was once again directed and animated by Tim Parmee. This video is the haunting tale of two sisters left alone with their overbearing father, and what they discover once he is out of the way.

Candy rock - candy shop (2009)

editor, camera operator

Severe change of pace for this slice of homegrown pop choonery. Directed by Damn Sung, this was shot in the middle of the night at an abandoned Virgin Megastore in central London.

digitonal - 93 years on (2008)

producer, director, editor

A mesh of science and romance for the video, of classical and electronica for the music.

number one son - hourglass (2008)

producer, director, editor

Look at the encode on this video! Shot on a camcorder in rehearsal spaces and using footage from another video they’d had made but didn’t like, we attempt to demystify the live show process.
